Our Representation in Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Claims

When you retain us to protect your rights after you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident involving an uninsured or underinsured motorist, the first thing we will do is review your insurance policy. Most insurance companies offer additional coverage in the event you are injured by an uninsured or underinsured motorist, but that coverage typically comes in the form of an optional rider, with an additional premium. We will look at your policy to determine whether you selected the additional coverage.

In addition, we will fully investigate the facts and circumstances of the accident to determine if there were other contributing factors, and, accordingly, other potentially responsible parties. We will look to see if:

  • There were roadway defects or hazards that contributed to the accident
  • The other driver was drunk or under the influence of drugs—in such a case, we may be able to seek recovery from the party/establishment that provided the alcohol or drugs
  • There was a third party involved in the accident who had adequate insurance

Once our investigation is complete, we will prepare and file all documentation necessary to pursue full and fair compensation for your losses. We will also be your advocate in all hearings or proceedings.
